The Tree City USA Committee, with funding from the Missouri Department of Conservation, is working to increase awareness of the value of trees during the month of April with our Springfield Tree Tags.  These tags show the many ways trees are important, not just in an intrinsic value, but also in hard numbers.  To learn more about this project, click here.

The Tree City USA Citizens’ Advisory Committee in Springfield, MO, was established in 1984 with the goal of bringing greater attention and care to our urban forest.    The Tree City USA committee advises the City Council and City departments regarding the City’s trees and community’s urban forest, and leads several programs which work to increase awareness regarding our local trees.  Our community upholds the national Tree City USA standards, which were established to help qualifying cities and towns have quality tree management programs.

The Springfield Tree City USA Citizens’ Advisory Committee is comprised of nine mayor-appointed Springfield citizens who work to protect our urban forest.   For more information, please visit our About Us page.
